The Speedtimer Solar Chronograph Series is part of the Prospex Collection, inspired by Seiko's first precision chronographs. Developed for international sporting competitions in 1964 combining the convenience of solar power and rugged durability with sporty style. The SFJ005 is a limited edition piece celebrating the 40th anniversary of Seiko’s – and the world’s – first analog quartz chronograph with just 4000 pieces produced. The 42mm polished and brushed stainless steel case has a charcoal grey vertical striation patterned dial under a curved anti-reflective scratch resistant sapphire crystal. Consisting of four dials with the main 12-hour dial @6, 1/100 seconds at 2:00, 1/10 split-seconds @10 with regular seconds @12. The sub-dials have luminous patina markers with orange luminous hands encircled by a black accented chapter ring on outer dial. Polished concave topped hammer-shaped chronograph pushers for stopwatch timing with ridged oversize easy-grip stainless steel crown. Seiko's own in-house movement caliber 8A50 is powered by light, using ambient or direct sunlight with 6 month power reserve for low easy maintenance (no need for a battery). Fitted with a stainless brushed and polished 3-link two-tone bracelet with deployment butterfly safety clasp will keep your watch secure and in place.
