The Speedtimer Solar Chronograph Series is the latest in the Prospex Collection inspired by Seiko's first precision chronographs, developed for international sporting competitions in 1964.Ā Combining the convenience of solar power and rugged durability with sporty style, the SSC939 chronograph features a bi-colored grey sun-brushed dial surrounded by a white minutes track and blue aluminum tachymeter bezel. The brushed and polished 41.4mm stainless steel case is equipped with inconspicuous slanted date window @4.Ā Applied markers and LumiBright sword style hands are easily legible behind a curved sapphire crystal. A bi-colored chronograph hand with black sub-dials easily stands out. Ā Polished chronograph pushers measure 60 minutes in 1/5- second increments with a small seconds, 24hour sub dial and power reserve indicator functions.
